Junyuan Primary School is a government English medium
school and was established in 1988. Our school adopted the name from the former Choon Guan Primary School although we are not affiliated. It functioned in 2 Tampines Street 91 in January 1988 and was officially opened on 2 September 1989 by Mr Yatiman Yusof, the Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC. When the school started, it functioned as a single session school with 20 classes and an enrolment of 620 and a teaching staff of 29.
The school has since grown in strength with an enrolment
of 1500 pupils and our teaching strength currently stands at 70. With its good academic and non-academic track record, it has established itself as one of the top choice neighbourhood schools in Tampines.
Junyuan Primary School has been selected to undergo PRIME in 2008 and will be operating from its holding school premises at 7 Jalan Tiga Ratus in 2008 and 2009. The school will operate as a single session school. The move to the sprawling school compounds at the holding school will provide the school with many possibilities and opportunities to be a vibrant and gracious learning community where talents blossom.
