Our Tagline Maths for Life! Teaching and Learning of Mathematics The primary objective for the teaching and learning of mathematics in schools is to equip all students with a broad and firm foundation of knowledge and skills in mathematics. The central focus of the mathematics programme is problem solving. Excellence in mathematics has its anchor in problem solving which includes using and applying mathematics in practical tasks in real-life problems and within mathematics itself. These are valued in everyday living and in the workplace. Mathematics is also a subject of enjoyment and excitement, which offers students opportunities for creative work. When ideas are discovered and insights gained, students are spurred to pursue mathematics beyond the classroom walls.
Key Programmes Thinking out of the Box (TotB) To promote critical thinking , all P3 to P6 pupils would be working on 'TotB' questions as part of the Mathematics classroom instruction.
CODER (P1 & 2)
